Having become the world’s leading drone makers, Chinese company DJI are set to move to a brand-new state-of-the-art headquarters.
Award winning British architects Foster + Partners – who will oversee construction of DJI’s new HQ – have now unveiled their plans for the new building; currently under construction in Shenzhen, China.
According to the architecture company, the building will ‘defy the traditional idea of office space’ and form a creative community in the sky; which will act as DJI’s heart of innovation.
The twin towers will be linked by a sky bridge which will showcase DJI’s latest drone technology.
Foster + Partners’ Head of Studio, Grant Brooker, told the company’s website: “Our aim is to create a unique workplace environment that embodies the spirit of invention and innovation that has allowed DJI to lead the world in robotics and technology.”
DJI’s new headquarters will feature twin towers – which will be joined by a sky bridge acting as a platform to showcase the company’s latest drone technology – will combine sensitive research and development spaces with offices and public functions.
The floors throughout the twin towers, which will reportedly be known as “Drone Towers are expected to be arranged in floating volumes, creating large, column-free spaces throughout the building, while there will also be several unique quadruple-height drone flight testing labs.
The ground floor of the building will house a public exhibition space, paying tribute to DJI’s technological developments, while there will also be a theatre which will host new product launches and a number of staff facilities including a gym and even robot fighting rings.
